What is the difference between osteopathy and other health care profession?
The principle working difference is that manual osteopaths tend to use more rhythmical and gentler manual techniques . They do not simply concentrate on treating the problem area but also any area that may contribute to the pain. For example, if you complain of knee pain, the manual osteopath will assess the function of the knee and also look for any imbalance within the body or structure that maybe the result or cause.
Can Manual Osteopaths use other modalities to treat?
Although Osteopathy techniques are base on “manual” principles, practitioners can use other modalities to provide treatment, such as: Ultrasound Therapy, Shockwave Therapy, Decompression Traction Therapy.
